Life is hard sometimes. But I've come to learn and believe that God will never give us more than we can bear. Through this blog, I'm going to share the "golden nuggets" of my family.

What are "golden nuggets," you ask? Well, I once had a discipler that would make me share something good or encouraging that God has shown me in His word or done for me during the week. Think of it as a treasure hunter sifting for gold from the sand.

As a teen, my life seemed to be filled with many troubles, but when I took the time to search for those golden nuggets, I came to realize that they weren't that hard to find.

If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored; If you remove unrighteousness far from your tent, and place your gold in the dust, and the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks, then the Almighty will be your gold and choice silver to you. For then you will delight in the Almighty, and lift up your face to God. You will pray to Him, and He will hear you; and you will pay your vows. You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; and light will shine on your ways. When you are cast down, you will speak with confidence and the humble person He will save. He will deliver one who is not innocent, and he will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands. Job 22:23-30

Kiddie Kwote-Lex

I need to start labeling these Kiddie Kwotes, I get confused when I try to edit. Anyway, this isn't a funny quote, but it's so sweet that I just had to post it.

One of our friend's kid is in the hospital. He's very sick and I finally told the kids about it last night. I explained that he was sick and that he was in the hospital.

Juliet: With her eyes wide open: Hey, he's my friend.
Me: Yes, you played with him before.
Juliet: Then we have to pray for him a lot, a lot, a lot of times.

I praise God that my kids know that it's going to be Him that brings Lex through this trial. And we will pray for him a lot, a lot, a lot of times.
