Life is hard sometimes. But I've come to learn and believe that God will never give us more than we can bear. Through this blog, I'm going to share the "golden nuggets" of my family.

What are "golden nuggets," you ask? Well, I once had a discipler that would make me share something good or encouraging that God has shown me in His word or done for me during the week. Think of it as a treasure hunter sifting for gold from the sand.

As a teen, my life seemed to be filled with many troubles, but when I took the time to search for those golden nuggets, I came to realize that they weren't that hard to find.

If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored; If you remove unrighteousness far from your tent, and place your gold in the dust, and the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks, then the Almighty will be your gold and choice silver to you. For then you will delight in the Almighty, and lift up your face to God. You will pray to Him, and He will hear you; and you will pay your vows. You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; and light will shine on your ways. When you are cast down, you will speak with confidence and the humble person He will save. He will deliver one who is not innocent, and he will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands. Job 22:23-30

Happy Birthday, Angelo Jr.!

In honor of his birthday, this post is dedicated to my brother, Angelo. Unfortunately, he is my real, biological brother. (J/K) I can't remember my first memory of him because I've known him all my life. I can't even begin to tell you all the funny moments I've had with him because there are many, trust me.

Let's see, some things you might not know about him is that he was born in Italy. We didn't have the best relationship growing up, we used to fist fight almost everyday until he turned 17 because by then he was taller and bigger than me. He is the funniest guy I know, he used to be the funniest person I know but my kids are giving him a run for his money. When he was in elementary school, he used to wear this blue shirt with an eagle on the front everyday after school. Needless to say, a lot of our fights started because I would tease him about how he smelled. : ) And he's naturally good at all sorts of sports.

All kidding aside, I now enjoy spending time with him and his family. He is a loving and devoted husband and father and I am proud of him. So, Jun (you can only call him that if you've known him for at least 10 years, Rose can't even call him that yet), may God bless you with a wonderful birthday and may He continue to cause you to grow in a closer, more meaningful life with Him as the years go by.

I love you, little brother, but only on your birthday and holidays! (Inside joke.)
