Life is hard sometimes. But I've come to learn and believe that God will never give us more than we can bear. Through this blog, I'm going to share the "golden nuggets" of my family.

What are "golden nuggets," you ask? Well, I once had a discipler that would make me share something good or encouraging that God has shown me in His word or done for me during the week. Think of it as a treasure hunter sifting for gold from the sand.

As a teen, my life seemed to be filled with many troubles, but when I took the time to search for those golden nuggets, I came to realize that they weren't that hard to find.


If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored; If you remove unrighteousness far from your tent, and place your gold in the dust, and the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks, then the Almighty will be your gold and choice silver to you. For then you will delight in the Almighty, and lift up your face to God. You will pray to Him, and He will hear you; and you will pay your vows. You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; and light will shine on your ways. When you are cast down, you will speak with confidence and the humble person He will save. He will deliver one who is not innocent, and he will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands. Job 22:23-30

Kiddie Kwote-Crazy

We were driving in the car and Juliet kept interrupting Amel's and my conversation, so after a while whenever she would ask Amel a question, he would answer with a "MmmHmm." For those of you who are parents, you know how that is. Anyway, Juliet likes real answers, so after a few "MmmHmm's" from Amel she said:

Juliet: Daddy, stop saying, MmmHmm, you make me drive crazy!
Me: What? Your dad's driving crazy? Which doesn't make sense because Amel drives below the speed limit.
Ricky: His sisters' translator said: "No, she means, you're driving her crazy."

Oh...
